Paměť, její odumírání i znovuoživování, její vytěsnění, deformace i její rekonstrukce… Paměť místa, paměť kolektivní i selektivní, ale především ta, která sahá hluboko pod hladinu subjektivních vzpomínek… Tak lze nastínit stěžejní téma, které jako červená nit propojuje různé tvůrčí etapy Jany Kasalové (1974). Přestože se tato vystudovaná malířka a absolventka madridské univerzity etablovala v mezinárodním kontextu jako multimediální a konceptuální umělkyně, bází její tvorby vždy zůstala kresba. Nyní se výsostně uplatnila v cyklech medijních kreseb, které vznikly v několika posledních letech v důsledku vlastních intenzivních prožitků. Zpracovává v nich autentické vjemy ze seancí jógy, během kterých si uvědomila existenci svého třetího oka, mapuje osobní „niterné“ zorné pole, a překračuje tak hranici mimosmyslového vnímání. V hypersenzitivních automatických kresbách také podává svědectví o fyzicky pociťované přítomnosti zemřelého otce, který se posmrtně stal „spolutvůrcem“ řady jejích kreseb. Kasalová jimi plynule navázala na své starší cykly, v nichž se zabývala kartografií paměti. Její kresby ovlivněné transpersonálními zkušenostmi můžeme zároveň vnímat jako důkaz existence univerzálního kódu krásy, který je jako základní princip vepsán do makro i mikro kosmu, a Jana se stala jednou z vyvolených, kteří o něm mohou podat zprávu.

Memory, its expiration and reawakening, its displacement, deformation, and reconstruction… Memory of place, collective and selective memory, but above all memory reaching deep below the surface of subjective recollections… This is how we might outline the central theme running like a golden thread through the various creative stages of the work of Jana Kasalová (1974). Although Kasalová is a trained painter, a graduated of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, and has established herself on an international stage as a multimedia and conceptual artist, drawing has always remained the foundation of her oeuvre. Most recently, she has devoted particular attention to a cycle of media drawings inspired over the last few years by certain intense experiences. In these drawings, she processes profound insights gleaned from her yoga practice, during which she realized the existence of her third eye; as a result, she mapped her inner field of vision and thus transcended the boundaries of sensory perception. In her hypersensitive automatic drawings, she also bears witness to the physically felt presence of her deceased father, who posthumously became the „co-creator“ of a number of her drawings. In them, Kasalová continues to draw on earlier cycles in which she dealt with the cartography of memory. At the same time, we might see these drawings influenced by transpersonal experiences as proof of the existence of a universal code of beauty that is inscribed as a basic principle in the cosmos writ both large and small, Kasalová having become one of the select few able to make it known to us.
